The initial dental examination is the
most important event in the entire oral health program of the patient.
At this time, the patient has his or her current oral status carefully
assessed by a professional, a treatment plan is prepared, and a comprehensive
preventive dentistry program will be started to help prevent further
disease.
The purpose of the initial clinical examination is to determine the
status of our patient's oral health and establish a personalized dental
care plan.
During your first visit, you will have an in-depth consultation with
a dentist to review your medical and dental history, along with a
comprehensive examination including:
- Diagnostic X-Rays
- Testing for Gum Disease
- Assessing for Tooth Decay
- Screening for Head and Neck Cancer
- Orthodontic Screening Exam
- Blood Pressure Check
- Determination of Risk Factors to Dental Disease
Based on our findings
at this time, we will determine your treatment plan and schedule your
next appointment with the hygienist. As part
of your Personal Dental Care Plan,
your dentist and hygienist will work closely with you on a preventive
program to minimize costly dental problems in the future.
